The Magewell Modator Chassis 2U is the physical foundation of Magewell's modular conversion and encoding system — a 2U rack unit that houses up to ten Pro Convert or Ultra Encode blade modules, sharing a single dual-redundant power supply, cooling system, and network management infrastructure across all installed modules.

When deploying multiple Magewell conversion or encoding devices, the Modator system is significantly more space-efficient and cost-effective than an equivalent number of standalone units. Ten simultaneous channels in 2U of rack space. A single Ethernet connection manages every installed module through Magewell Control Hub.

The chassis accepts a mix of module types — NDI encoders, NDI decoders, AIO modules, and Ultra Encode SDI Plus modules can all coexist in a single chassis. The chassis is sold separately from the modules. Specify the chassis once and populate it with whatever combination of modules your project requires.
